This free knitting pattern for a cabled snood was originally designed for as a pattern for a girl who wanted something warm to wear around her neck for winter but without the risk of wearing a scarf which could get caught in things. The snood is light soft and comfortable against the skin while the giant cables give it an interesting texture and look. Total preparation time is probably about 4 - 8 hours depending on experience.
