Mum bought a couple of sunflower plants the other day, they are a lovely yellow colour which should brighten the garden considerably provided none of us dig them up.  If she promises not to plant them in our sandpits she should be ok.  As well as being pretty flowers, the seeds of the sunflower can be used for bird food.  Talking of birds , its chicken night wahoo!
