I’m innocent! 

I have been unjustly accused of turning over the lounge waste basket and rifling through the scattered contents.  This is a slur on my good character, an absolute outrage!  What I was merely doing, was examining the bin for scraps of yarn to give me ideas for colours, ply and texture for my forthcoming blankie, when it tipped over.  (OK it may have had, a teensy bit of help).  I was just in the process of removing a sweet wrapper to get a better view of a scrap of red yarn which I was thinking was from a tractor jumper perhaps, when I was told to leave it.
