I read mums blog on how inspirational spring can be.  My take is slightly different.  Apart from everwhere coming alive and extra birds to woof at, it’s not a time of joy, the heating is turned off, my blanket numbers are cut and I moult and grow a summer coat which is thinner.  But what to do with the discarded hair?  

Uncle Robin bought mum a book on spinning dog hair as a birthday present (apparently out of print which may not be a bad thing), unfortunately it doesn’t include the suitability of my breed so mum wastes it all by hoovering it up, I don't think she realises how much effort it takes to spread it all over the carpets and furniture in an artistic style which shows to its best on the cream rug.  Cousin Fluffy’s breed features in the book as spinnable, no wonder he sent it - but  I would hazard a guess that the resulting yarn would be a bit whiffy. Apparantly at some point we are going to try spinning some of it and I don't rate my chances of discouraging them !
