To make up:

Using gold yarn and chain stitch create crown base by working a row of stitching between the marked stitches.  Stitch the button in place centrally above the gold line. Sew in loose ends.   Wind white yarn several times around the longer sides of the DVD case.  And cut along top.  Thread the individual strands double through the stitches at the centre of the back of the hat for the bottom few rows, looping them into place.  Plait the strands and secure.
