3mm Crochet Hook
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Red
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Orange
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Yellow
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Green
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Blue
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Pale Purple
1 x 50g of double knitting yarn in Dark Purple
Wool Needle



Instructions:

Tension 24sts or 30 rows to 10cm, using stocking stitch on 33/4 mm needles

To make sides of Hot Water Bottle Cover (need 2 alike):

Using dark purple yarn and 4mm needles, cast on 44 stitches.
Row 1:  [K1, P1] Repeat to end
Row 2:  [K1, P1] Repeat to end
These two rows form pattern, continue working in pattern until work measures 4.2cm (or 1.7 inches).
Change to the Pale Purple yarn and continue working in pattern until work measures 8.4cm (3.4 inches).
Change to the Blue yarn and continue working in pattern until work measures 12.6cm (5.1 inches).
Change to the Green yarn and continue working in pattern until work measures 16.8cm (6.8 inches).
Change to the Yellow yarn and continue working in pattern until work measures 21.0cm (8.5 inches).
Change to the Orange yarn and continue working in pattern until work measures 25.0cm (10 inches).

Next row:  K1, [K2tog, YFO, work 3 sts in pattern] repeat to last 2 sts, work these in pattern (40 sts)

Change to the Red yarn and continue working in pattern for an additional 12 rows.

Cast off in pattern.

To make Up:

With right sides facing, sew up side and bottom seams of hot water bottle cover.  Turn correct way out.  Using the crochet hook make a chain string (1m in length) for securing the cover.  Insert hot water bottle and tie the crochet string in a bow at the base of the neck.
