Moss Stitch Face Cloth and Soap Case

1 pair of 4mm Needles
1 x 100g  Cotton

To make the Face Cloth:  (make 1)

Using 4mm needles,  cast on 55 stitches

Border:  [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1

Repeat the border row a further 9 times (10 rows in total)

Central Panel

Row 1:  [K1, P1] repeat 4 times, K39, [K1, P1] repeat 4 times

Row 2:  [K1, P1] repeat 4 times, P39, [K1, P1] repeat 4 times

Repeat these 2 rows until the central panel (section in stocking stitch) is square, ending on a purl row.

Border:  [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1

Repeat the border row a further 9 times (10 rows in total)
Cast Of in pattern.

To make up

Carefully sew in all loose ends.



To make the Soap Case:  (make 2)

Using 4mm needles,  cast on 25 stitches
Row 1:  [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Repeat this row until work measures 4.25 inches (11cm)
Next row  K1, [K2tog, YFD, K1, P1] repeat to end
Repeat rows 1, a further 4 times.
Cast off in pattern.

To make up

Carefully sew around edges of soap case leaving a short edge open for adding and removing a bar of soap.  Tie a ribbon over the open edge to secure.
