One down...

I am pleased to announce that Aunty Biscuit has achieved one of her new year resolutions.  The fiendish jigsaw has been completed.  It is confirmed as intact with no parts chewed (but we enjoyed winding her up over it.. Like knitting it is a relaxing hobby.  I remain unconvinced that the intermittent jumper will be completed this year, but time will tell and I suppose she will have more time to work on it now.

A brave act

Whilst driving home Mum and Aunty Biscuit spotted a small yellow sports car with the top down and what appeared to be either a fridge or freezer in the passenger seat.  To expand this was on the A19 slip road in a howling wind with it raining.  I personally think that this sort of weather is best for staying indoors and doing something constructive such as knitting or crochet as opposed to taking a kitchen gadget for a ride out.

Thanks Lily

Aunty Biscuit has just acquired a cookbook for dogs including gluten free ones.  Some of the recipes sound very exciting and tasty although I'm not sure about the pronunciation of some of the ingredients.  Being Aunty Biscuit I suspect that the labels will not be entirely plain on any containers.  Regardless I am available for sampling purposes.

We have cast off

Aunty Biscuit has just cast off the final piece of an unidentified knitted object, suspected of being a hat.  There is usually initial excitement at this stage followed by the happy realisation (or otherwise) that there is still a lot of work to do before the item is complete.  End sewing in, pinning in place, stitching up just to name a few.  She does however feel a sense of achievement when its all done and dusted.

Spring clear out.

Mum has been clearing out our blankie stash to send some of the older ones to the local rescue kennels.  I have been supervising to ensure none of our favourites end up going.  We were originally allocated one shelf in the cupboard which has gradually expanded to two shelves and part of the floor.  I wonder how much of her stash she would be prepared to part with if I went through it?

Robbed!

Harrier pinched my tea!  I'm a bit outraged as it was venison & boar terrine with a chicken side.  Normally he messes about with his tea so I thought I was safe for a little bit longer cuddle time but sadly not.  Aunty Biscuit found me some more chicken so its not all bad.

Squares galore!

Mum has now put her multi coloured squared jumper  up as a project, about time too I think as it tends to be admired wherever it goes.  Aunty Marie has given Aunty Biscuit a load of squares to be sewn together which I think will make a brilliant blankie, I'm hopeful..........

Resolute

I have been making further enquiries about new year resolutions.  Mum didn’t make any this year.  Given that most only last until the end of January we thought we’d give her a helping paw and proffered her a couple of suggestions.  No dog baths for at least a month regardless of who has rolled in what.  More dog treats within the guidelines of health and weight considerations.  New dog coats each on a weekly basis.  I was a little surprised that she didn’t feel that she could commit to any of these sterling suggestions and merely carried on knitting.

Phone rest

Mum has been given a strange small beanbag like thing to keep her mobile phone in and find it easily.  Given that it is bright orange and now sat by the TV provided she remembers to put the phone in it this may work very well. It is made of fabric but I'm sure with a little application she should be able to come up with a pattern for knitting one.  I suspect it would need to be knit on small needles to ensure a close knit fabric.

Now that the festive season is well and truly over its time to cast my expert eye over some of the resolutions that have been made for the year and offer my opinion.
