Aunty Biscuit is having a go at experimenting making rosehip vodka.  This is an unusual choice of base for her as she maintains that vodka makes her your tongue go numb and other people go fuzzy around the edges.  The recipe she was going to try said that the hips needed to be firm and not overripe.  Unfortunately, most of the tame ones she was going to use from the garden have now gone too squishy so she has been out catching relatively accessible wild ones.  This involved carefully entering the ditch in front of the hedge and clambering out again. This needs supervision as we don’t want her falling in and blocking the drainage system.  Fortunately the required weight has now been safely collected.  Given the size difference between the two breeds I think there will only be the one batch tried this year as it would probably take her a week to collect the necessary 300g,  The downside is that if it turns out to be delicious it will be another year before more can be made and that she now has some minor scratches on her arm,
