Sleeves

Sep 22 2020

The sleeve that Aunty biscuit cast on the other day has now grown several inches.  She maintains that sleeves are a pain to knit as they seem to go on forever both at the increasing every so many rows and then the subsequent decrease on the raglan.  Apparently shaping is best done a stitch or two in from the edge for counting purposes.  If you are not certain that you have sufficient yarn to knit a garment it is  best to knit a back and a sleeve first and then if you have half or more of it left there will be sufficient.  The mermaid incidentally has the waistband stitched and is just waiting for Aunty Biscuit to find the required elastic that she has mislaid.  The worry is that it may be in her handbag, in which case it may be weeks before it surfaces.
