Sink shenanigans

Sep 21 2020

Yesterday evening was spent supervising Mum dismantling the innards underneath the sink.  It turns out that a widget on the overflow had broken a few of days ago so new parts had to be ordered which arrived yesterday, but it was then when a wiggly bit then fell off and created a bit of a flood it was decided to replace the other bits as well.  On attempting to refit them it turned out that one of the attaching pipes was a bit short so a longer piece had to be procured today.  The new pieces have now been successfully fitted this evening and are not leaking.  Naturally the implements required to do this as well as plumbers tape, screwdrivers and spanner type things have included a few improvisations.  These included elastic bands, string (for when the elastic bands ran out) craft glue, a gardening multi-tool, a squishy dog bed and a skewer.  Harrier and I were very disappointed that we hadn’t been informed of the parlous state of the sink earlier or we would have taken advantage of things and rolled in the most interesting things we could find.  If your human has ever used some strange things for either crafting or home repairs feel free to let us know.
