The mermaid tail is now cast off, partially sewn up and being scrutinised.  It still needs the waistband folding over and some elastic adding, although Mum thinks it ought to have a pair of braces to hold it up.  I assume that she is joking about this as I am pretty sure that mythical aquatic creatures are not generally known to frequent the sort of emporia that sell such accessories plus there is the added bonus of winding Aunty Biscuit up.  There is also some debate on the best thing to do as a top, whether to for knit a flesh coloured jumper with modestly placed shell motifs, or simple bandeau. A bikini top type is another option as is a crop top.
