Today has been one of those warm, golden days where the light is good for painting.  For non-painters it is just one of those mellow days to enjoy with the butterflies are wafting past the windows to watch and the harvesting traffic is trundling past to look alert at.  It is the sort of day for humans travelling back from work or necessary shopping to try the back lanes, thus enjoying the peace of the countryside and a slower pace in the hazy sunshine.  Depending on species there is the occasional invigorating smell to enjoy or a bit of a manure type odour.  If you do happen to end up following a tractor and trailer or combine harvester, spare a thought for the farmers who will often have to work into the early hours of the morning this time of year.   Whilst Mum has done knitted tractor jumpers she hasn’t done a combine harvester, although they do seem extremely large with loads of bits on them so maybe that is why.
