The buttons worked and have now been sewn on with a natural coloured thread as the invisible thread couldn’t be found.  All the ends have been done so I now officially declare the waistcoat finished.  As this was another project that was made predominantly out of oddments it does leave me to wonder where they all come from and whether she breeds them in the room that her stash lives in
