Aunty Biscuit after much deliberation has just acquired a dehydrator.  This means that In the short time she has had it her lavender has been dried in record time whilst making her house smell gorgeous in the process.  This has then saved weeks of it dangling upside down with muslin to catch any bits that drop off.  Today she has turned up with dried apple rings.  From what I have read on woofapedia about dehydrators there seems to be loads of doggie treats and food that they can be used to make so paws crossed she tries making some.  If not we will have to kidnap it and give it to Mum along with some recipes.
