Latch hook rug making

Oct 12 2017

The latch hook rug that Aunty Biscuit is working on looks as though it is progressing well.  The pattern consists of a defined border with the central panel being filled with random oddments of yarn which is surprisingly pretty.  The bits of yarn are wrapped around a special bit of wood which has a groove running along the top, then the yarn is cut by placing scissors in the groove, seems like a clever idea to me.  When Mum made her rug that looked like a jigsaw puzzle she had a special pair of scissors that fluffs up the strands of yarn to allow for even trimming, clearly the world of rug making is conducive to coming up with extremely useful gadgets

On the domestic the new hens have settled in well and have even started laying eggs, Harrier and I are taking bets as to whether they will end up wearing special little knitted hen jumpers or not and the fence painting seems to be nearly finished, about time too.
